We’re back with EPISODE 100!! WOO!
As it’s been a while there’s a lot to catch up on. Maggie’s been sending and receiving packages in the Odd Duck Swaps group’s Dresden Files Swap, has been working on the Vivid Blanket and has been designing some Dresden-inspired socks. Karen has started and finished the Estuary Shawl, started the Urdr shawl, finished the Smocks of Love socks and started some Monkey socks. Oh, and she’s doing the Leventry shawl for an LYS knitalong, and retroactively justifying the yarn purchase. Oh, and she finally actually put buttons on her Saddleback Cardigan and wove in the ends. Also, WOO KNITTERS FROLIC! See the end of this post/the Ravelry group for meetup plans.
In Geek Squee, Karen has been continually losing her mind over the casting for the live-action Beauty and the Beast that Disney is producing (and yes, we know there is an answer to the question we still had about casting, but technology was not cooperating to record an addendum :D), Avengers: Age of Ultron is almost here and some brave souls are watching ALL 11 MARVEL MOVIES in a marathon, the Daredevil TV show came out on Netflix and as of recording Karen hadn’t seen it (she’s seen the first two episodes now!), and the Deadpool movie will be Rated R as it should be. Also, if there wasn’t enough media coming back from Karen’s teenage years, OMG THE X-FILES IS COMING BACK WITH ALL THE KEY PLAYERS OMG. We’ve also found an interesting blog called Push Comics Forward and a really cool article about Bolivian women who have moved from doing traditional knitting and weaving into making devices to *save babies’ lives*.
In Cravings, Covets and Crushes, we are dying to get the first episodes of Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk’s webseries “Con Man”, possibly looking for people to play the official web app version of Cards Against Humanity with, discuss pretties from Knitting Fresh Brioche, Shards of Bifrost and One Geek to Craft Them All, and found some super cool fan art from Patrick Ballesteros.
Also, big and very belated thanks to Danielle who sent us some pretty stitch markers (let us know if you sell these, Danielle!), and we got a big-ass box from a certain person, so unless you want to hear Karen nearly cry on the podcast, you are warned that there’s a good chunk of squealing over that.
We’re going to be at the Toronto Knitters Frolic on Saturday, April 25th! Come meet up with us in the food area at around 1:30, or if you see us wandering around before that, say hello! We love meeting listeners, even if Karen is total fail at remembering names.
